The last date for registration has passed.

NOTE: The event for the Juniors is currently wait-listed.  Adults can register, but not Junior Girl Scouts.  If you would like to attend, please add your Junior Girl Scout to the list and if are able to accommodate girls, we will invite adults to register as well.

Take a day to learn about advocacy and legislation. Join your sister Girl Scouts from around the state and discover the issues impacting girls in our community; connect with community resources to research the issues(s) that interest you and take action by meeting with your legislator to discuss the issue(s) important to you.

This year we will have opportunities for each level to split to different areas including outside of the capitol to fulfill their requirements for their Government badges so please ensure you have enough leadership to go around with each level.  Please come in full uniform- Khakis, white shirt, and vest/sash.

This is NOT a drop off event.  All girls MUST have an adult that is registered with them. (please follow the Volunteer essentials on girl/adult ratio)

Juniors will complete requirements for Inside Government

Cadettes will complete requirements for Finding Common Ground

Seniors will complete requirements for Behind the Ballot

Ambassadors will complete requirements for Public Policy

Adults- Please be sure to bring our drivers license as there is security in every building the girls must go into.  To make the process easier and smoother please

Planned Schedule- At the Capitol this is very tentative, please download the Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta app to receive updates during the day.

9:00 am - Suggested Arrival

Generally between 9:00 - 10:00am Reading of Girl Scout Day Proclamation

11:00 am - Group Photo

Noon- Panel with Female Representatives at Trinity UMC and Advocacy Activity!

Lunch- Please plan on either packing a lunch or bringing money to purchase lunch at the Sloppy Floyd building across the street from the Capitol, they have a cafeteria there.

Clipboards would be helpful for the girls while they are working on their scavenger hunt.

You will be emailed a confirmation and what to expect a week before the event.   This will have each level's agenda on it.  Expect to visit the Senate and House sides of the Capitol, a group picture with the Governor, Scavenger Hunt that teaches the girls all about Georgia and the Capitol,  Badge specific requirements and even a change to meet your own Senator or State Representative for your area.

If you would like to set up a meeting with your State Rep visit this website and contact your areas State Representative:  http://www.house.ga.gov/REPRESENTATIVES/en-US/HouseMembersList.aspx
