The Georgia Association For Women Lawyers (GAWL) is excited to host Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta for this annual summer event.  There are two programming options, depending on the RISING grade for each girl.  One event is for Rising 8th - 12th Grade Girls (this is a two-day event).  The second event is for Rising 5th - 7th Grade Girls (this is a one-day event).  Both events take place at the State Bar of Georgia.

Girls Lead in Law (Rising 8th-12th Grade Girls)

Join fellow Girl Scouts in a two-day exploration of our legal system from a teenager's perspective. Rising 8th to 12th graders will participate in a mock trial with a real judge!  Participants also will engage in career exploration and networking activities with some of the best female lawyers and judges in Atlanta.  The event includes several impressive speakers and a tour of a courtroom in the United States federal courthouse.  The girls will also attend a "mentor lunch" where each scout will be paired with a lawyer or law student.

This two-day event is sponsored by the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers (GAWL) and will take place from 10am - 4pm on Monday July 15 and Tuesday July 16 at the State Bar of Georgia building in downtown Atlanta. Participants will receive written mock trial materials prior to the event, which they should review beforehand.  All participants must be able to attend both days.  Parents are welcome to watch their Girl Scouts perform the mock trial on Tuesday afternoon and then mingle with the attorneys and judges at a reception immediately thereafter.

Lunch will be provided.

Junior Lawyer Experience (Rising 5th to 7th Grade Girls)

Join fellow Girl Scouts in an exploration of the law and female empowerment.  This one-day event is led by some of Atlanta's leading female lawyers and judges.  Participants will examine the role of school rules and dress codes. Participants will also have the opportunity to observe a mock trial put on by older Girl Scouts that will be presided over by a real judge.

This event is sponsored by the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers (GAWL) and will take place from 10am - 4pm on Tuesday July 16 at the State Bar of Georgia building in downtown Atlanta.

Lunch will be provided.
