Afford That Dream-Girl Scout Family Financial Literacy Event is designed to be hands-on, activity-based experiences that girls and families engage in together. Activities are inspired by the Girl Scout financial literacy curriculum and rooted in the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. This workshop covers a range of financial literacy topics and skills girls will need for financially stable futures. Afford That Dream also empowers parents and caregivers by taking away the pressure of needing to be “financial literacy experts” and encouraging them to allow their children to share, show, and teach what they’ve learned. When the whole family is engaged and has access to and inclusion in financial literacy activities, girls become more comfortable thinking about their financial futures.
