Thank you for registering to attend GSGATL Small Craft Safety Training with Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta. This is a two-part training with the online prerequisite portion completed before you attend the instructor led in-person skill session for which you are registering. This training is for adults and Girl Scouts 16 years of age and older.
You will access the online portion of GSGATL Small Craft Safety Training in your gsLearn account. Most students allow a minimum of two-hours to complete the online portion of the training however, your experience may vary widely based on several factors including your PC, internet speed and previous training. We recommend beginning your online session as soon as possible to ensure you have completed it prior to the in-person skills portion. Complete Online training at least two days before the date scheduled for your in-person training with a passing score of 80% or higher to qualify to attend the in-person skills section. NO exceptions will made for this prerequisite deadline.
Successful course completion requires skill & knowledge evaluations and physical activity including pulling yourself up into a canoe/Kayak from the water, kneeling in a canoe, & keeping yourself afloat. If you have any concerns or questions about these requirements, please reach out to training@gsgatl.org.
Upon completion of your GSGATL Small Craft Safety Training online and in-person sessions your training will be valid for two years from the date of your in-person session.
