Earn your Junior Girl Scout's Horseback Riding Badge, or your Cadette Animal Helper badge practicing your riding skills: start, stop, turn, walk and trot; Take care of a horse and learn about safety; Prepare for your ride; Practice your ride; Go for a ride.
We will touch on general horse anatomy and the basics of horse/human body language. Girls will learn how to lead a horse, halter and tie it and how to tack up a horse for a ride. Girls will have an opportunity to mount, ride, and dismount a horse in a safe and controlled setting based on their level of expertise and their level of comfort.
This is a troop event or Juliette event requiring an adult to support and supervise girls over the weekend.
This weekend might look different when compared to other weekends at Misty Mountain because of GSGATL’s guidance regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, but we will still have an amazing weekend! We still love giving girls the chance to experience camp and the outdoors and are striving to make this an experience you’ll love, while keeping everyone safe.
