Overview:

Volunteers, National Delegates, Council Delegates & Girl Scouts! Each year, we host the Annual Meeting, where members and delegates come together to review the past year, vote on key governance matters, and celebrate the impact of Girl Scouts across our community.

This year, in an effort to create an intentionally meaningful day, we've added the first annual Lead Forward event.  The program will allow you to maximize your day with Girl Scouts, with two workshop sessions in the morning, followed by lunch and a keynote speaker, before transitioning to the Annual Meeting.   We've identified topics that can appeal to both Girl Scouts and adult members, creating a maximum opportunity benefit.

An assortment of boxed lunch options are available for selection during the registration process.  Cost for the lunch is $6.50 for Council/Service Unit Delegates and $13.00 for Adult Volunteers and Cadette, Senior, and Ambassador (CSA) Girl Scouts.  You may elect to bring your own lunch or to venture into the nearby area for alternate dining options.

Keynote Speaker:

Jen Hollern is a strategist, analyst, and creator whose work centers on community, mentorship, the wellbeing of girls, and the realities of parenting today's youth. As owner of Forge 4082, she partners with organizations on strategy, coaches emerging changemakers, and brings a strong data-informed lens to her work. Previously, as Chief Membership Officer at Girl Scouts of the USA, she supported more than 100 Councils in implementing a national membership strategy that reached more than 2 million members annually.

She'll share about The Georgia Girl Report: Wellbeing, Mentorship, and the Magic of Girl Scout Troops.

This two-part talk starts with the data and ends with the playbook. Jenn will share a preview of the Georgia Girl Report, uncovering current trends in mental health, academic performance, and social connectedness among all girls living in Georgia.

From there, we turn to what actually moves those numbers: the conditions inside Girl Scouting that best supports girls. Drawing on data from troops across the country, we explore the composition of troops, their activities and norms, and the ever-elusive role of the volunteer in shaping a girl's experience beyond the nuts and bolts.

Attendees walk away with two things: a sharper read on the Georgia girl they're serving, and a research-backed shortlist of what to do about it.

Afternoon Annual Meeting:

Council/Service Unit Delegates provide representation for their designated unit during the annual meeting. Upon entering the meeting room, these voting participants will be provided with a voter identification card and will have a designated seating area.  Guests to the annual meeting are welcome to learn about the State of the Council and listen thoughtfully through the presentation of key governance items.
