The culmination of our Outdoor series provides a backpacking practicum. Spend Friday night at one of our platform tent sites then on Saturday pack-up and Backpack out to one of Misty Mountain's primitive sites where you will set up your campsite, prepare your own meals, practice your orienteering and enjoy the serenity of a true wilderness experience. This weekend is designed for you to get out of your comfort zone and adventure in the outdoors! Our staff will help guide you to the outskirts of our 1000 acre property.
This is a primitive camping experience. We recommend the Outdoor Series 1 or similar training before signing up for this experience. Campers must provide their own sleeping bag and have a decent pair of hiking shoes. Backpacks, cooking equipment and tents will be provided.
This weekend will only cover the adventure portion of the journey. If you are interested in the other portions of the journey please check out the Journey Series 1 and 2 sessions.
This event is open to Juliettes, troops, or girls with a guardian!
This weekend might look different when compared to other weekends at Misty Mountain because of GSGATL’s guidance regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, but we will still have an amazing weekend! We still love giving girls the chance to experience camp and the outdoors and are striving to make this an experience you’ll love, while keeping everyone safe.
