For Girl Scouts, thinking globally used to be all about daydreaming about future travel adventures! Today, the world is at their fingertips, and the thrill of exploring new horizons knows no age limits! Discover the art of seamlessly infusing the essence of travel and global thinking into your troop meetings, empowering scouts of all ages to embark on a journey of cultural discovery and understanding.

Embracing the Outdoor Experience: Beginning Your Adventure

Spending time outdoors offers profound benefits for the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of youth, yet today's generation spends more time indoors than ever before. Our introductory workshop is tailored to empower volunteers in deepening their Girl Scouts' connection with nature. Join us to explore the potential of the GSLE Outdoor pillar, where you'll learn about troop-level activities and resources and gain a fresh outlook on the outdoor experience. You may find that you're already more prepared than you think!

Social Savvy

Keeping children you care about safe online is as important as keeping them safe in their real life. Do you know where the dangers lie? How do you balance their privacy and your desire to protect them? What are the best rules for online safety? Led by Alli Neal, founder of Revved Up Kids®, this information-packed session is ideal for parents, caregivers and youth-serving volunteers. It will open participants' eyes to a spectrum of online dangers and equip them with tools and action steps to recognize behavioral red flags and keep children and teens safer. Five danger zones will be covered: Addiction/Anxiety/Depression | Bullying | Reputation/Privacy | Inappropriate Content | Predators.   Note:  This class spans 2 session time slots.
