DESCRIPTION:Ready to take a craft project to the next level? Join us for a unique, hands-on creating experience!  Learn about tools and some woodworking basics.  Then, put your new knowledge to use while creating your own DIY string art!  Cadettes will earn their &quot;Woodworker&rdquo; badge and walk away with a unique, handmade art piece!  \n  \n  \n This program is for Cadette Girl Scouts (4th-5th grade), who will earn their &quot;Woodworker&quot; badge and a fun patch- both of which are provided.  This workshop will be hosted at Decatur Makers in Decatur. Each Girl Scout must be accompanied by an adult (parent, guardian, or Troop Leader).  This experience is just for Girl Scouts- no siblings please!  Space is limited so register today! Each year, we offer a variety of free and low-cost programs, including four free clubs, outreach initiatives with local partners, and workshops that teach valuable skills such as coding, woodworking, and more. These programs reach over 1,500 young people annually, fostering their interest in STEAM education, creative arts, entrepreneurship, and personal growth.&quot; \n  \n  \n   \n  \n  \n Girl Scouts aims to ensure all our programs are affordable.  Use the steps below to apply for Financial Aid or use Cookie Dough to pay for this workshop.  Please note that all participants will be charged a non-refundable $5 deposit.  After your application is approved, you will have to return to your registration to pay any balance (details will be included in your confirmation email).  All registration fees must be paid (either through Financial Aid, Cookie Dough, or individual payments) by NOON on Sunday 5/18/25.
